Ken Martin, PGA Certified Professional Instructor at Keiser University College of Golf demonstrates how you can make the golf ball fly or roll by striking it below the equator.  "So, if you want the ball to fly, you have to contact it below the equator. If you want the ball to roll, you can actually contact it on the equator or a little bit below or a little bit above. It's interesting that putters actually have a little bit of loft so that we strike it just below the equator.
